3/22/2023 0 Comments Charmas p. baylock![]() With the school in the video, I like the fact that they were more engaged in the students' academic success. To me, I felt like that was ineffective in assuring that the students understood what they were working on. The students' work was not monitored but rather they were just given an iPad and told to work on the software until they got to the next level. I also found that the technology served as the time that a teacher would be teaching directly to the students. I feel like some of the classrooms didn't need them. There were iPads, Macs and laptops in almost every classroom. I have been substituting in these schools since April 2015 and I think that their technologies are distractions rather than progressive education. ![]() There was mention of color coded calendars, I don't think that would be great help for me, therefore I would like to know of a number of strategies that I can pick and choose from to help me with this.Ĭurrently there are a number of Charter Schools in the Chicago Public Schools system that are technology wired. I would like to learn strategies on how I can be more organized. I am typically an extremely disorganized person. What I would like to know more about is how to organize the work. I do think that the advice of being a martyr and just accepting a position is a great view of knowing when you should accept positions and knowing when to leave. I think that learning from my peers and allowing my students to teach their peers will bring a greater sense of community within my students. This would provide me with a great resource and possibly a collaboration. Since I am going into secondary English, I think that getting to know the librarian is good advice. I also think the advice of asking others who have been there before you is great advice. I didn't think that the advice should have encouraged that the students should build a community where students take risks. I did like the fact that the advice was to be consistent and respectful. ![]() This list provides a great deal of information and advice for teachers.
